What is the media’s goal during their discovery about the case, and what do they want to learn about? Also needed to know is whether specific employees are being considered for an interview.
Careful processing of these media requests and the implementation of the media relations policy puts standards in place to guard against mismanaged communication that could not only jeopardize a reputation, but possibly have serious legal repercussions. These safeguards can be put in place early on to avoid a crisis when it comes to communicating details on the case and the people involved.
